All those trucks inside
that tiny firehouse --
impossible
About
Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Company Inc
Is a not-for-profit 501(c )(3) independent fire company that contracts with the Town of Caroga,
the Town of Bleecker and Piseco Fire Company to provide fire and emergency service for a fire
protection district. We are funded via these contracts, federal grants, state grants, private

After 50 years of service we just retired the
pump from this truck at the end of 2019
It spent the last 22 years on the front of
a Dodge 2500HD
Who and What is a volunteer Fire Fighter?
•
Our Fire Fighters are both men & women.
•
Some are 16-year-olds looking for exciting training opportunities.
•
Some are middle aged residents with full time jobs and growing families.
•
Some are retirees with more free time.
•
All of us have one overriding core goal of giving back and serving our community.
•
The pay can be fantastic.
•
When you help someone get thru the worst of times for them and they turn to you, look you in the eye and say, “thank you for
coming”, that is enough pay to last for months.
•
We often receive thank you letters sent from the heart of people we have helped.
•
Many that we have helped don’t know our names, only that we came when they needed us. “I want to thank the fire fighters that
came last week and helped get our loved one into the waiting ambulance.” “Please say thank you to the fire fighters who
pumped the water out of my basement and saved my heating furnace”. “Thank you, Caroga Lake Volunteers, for putting out my
chimney fire and saving my home”.
•
YOU can be one of our fire fighters or EMTs.
•
You don’t have to be an Olympic athlete to accomplish what we do.
•
You do have to be willing to work and train with a great team.
•
All training you receive, whether in-house or at county/state facilities is free.
•
Any equipment you may be issued is at no cost to you.
•
You are never asked to do any job you are uncomfortable with or not trained to do.
•
Come join us and receive that fantastic pay and the respect of the community.
